The Official First Look at Alma Coin for Mockingjay Part 1

Lionsgate has released the first look of Julianne Moore as President Alma Coin.

I like the way she looks, it does seem accurate to the books description:

“She’s fifty or so, with gray hair that falls in an unbroken sheet to her shoulders. […] Her eyes are gray, but not like those of people from the Seam. They’re very pale, as if almost all the color has been sucked out of them. The color of slush that you wish would melt away.”

I think it will be interested to see Julianne Moore take on the role of President Coin, it is a rather interested and layered role.  She is a rather good actress, so I have been looking forward to her portrayal of the character.

Lionsgate also released a few photos from the set of Beetee, Haymitch, and Plutarch with President Coin.

“The Emotional Spider-Man 2”

OR, “You’ll Believe a (Spider-)Man Can Cry!”

Spoilers Ensue. Please don’t give me crap if you read the article but didn’t want to be spoiled. Only read if you’ve seen the movie or give zero fucks.

“The Amazing Spider-Man 2” Opened this past weekend to a strong, but hardly record-breaking, 92 million dollars. On Thursday, three of the TFP Fangirls went to go see it together, enthused for another Marvel movie, especially after the awesomeness that was “Captain America: the Winter Soldier.”

We walked out a bit… confused.

Spider-Man movies, including the Tobey Maguire films of yore, have always been entertaining, at least. Andrew Garfield’s second appearance as the Web Head was not different. In fact, his Peter Parker and Spidey gave some particularly entertaining one-liners, comebacks, and banter.

But he was also batshit crazy.

Scarlett Johansson asked for a scene to be cut from “Captain America: Winter Solider”

We all know that not every scene makes it into a movie, but it is rare for an actor to ask for a scene to be cut from the movie. That is exactly what happened in Captain America: Winter Solider, Scarlett Johansson thought that one of her scenes dragged so she asked for it to be cut out.

“Weirdly it was Scarlett who said after she saw the movie, she loved the film, but she goes “It just seemed there was a bit of a drag in that section,” and she goes “This is crazy for me to recommend this, but do we really need that scene between me and Sam? Is there really narrative content in that scene? You could still get the same arc out of my character without it,” she actually recommended cutting her own scene.”

The scene in question is a moment between Black Widow and Nick Fury, where Black Widow takes issue with that fact that she was not included on Fury being alive.

“It’s a nice moment for her, it’s a reflective moment where she goes “My god, this is the world that I’ve sort of invited myself into.” And Fury says “I couldn’t, I had to keep the circle small,” so i think its a very reflective moment for her. A short scene but it’s a great scene.”

Johansson thought you could still get her character growth without that scene, I have seen Captain America and yes I got her growth without the scene. Might that scene have confirmed her growth of course, it was not needed like Johansson thought. I guess we will have to wait until the DVD comes out to see the exact scene.

Another ‘Transformers’ Trilogy?

Transformers: Age of Extinction, will be the start of a new film trilogy. Yes, there will be two more Transformer movies made after this film. I am sure many of you are going really do we need more Transformer movies; I am with you.

Interestingly enough, Michael Bay has said that he won’t ‘necessarily’ direct the next two movies. Bay was supposed to have left after Dark of the Moon. If Bay is not directing the movies that means the movies would take on a different tone. Maybe if someone else is directing the movies they might be a bit better.

Yay or Nay to another Transformers trilogy?

“X-Men: Days of Future Past” final trailer

The final trailer before X-Men: Days of Future Past hits theaters on May 23rd has been released.

The trailer looks good, it gives us more insight into the movie, but I do have a question about Xavier walking.  In some scenes he is walking around and in others he is in the wheelchair.  The speculation is that he is using mechanical leg braces which he has used in the comics.  That would make sense especially with Beast hanging around/living with him.  I am curious as to what happened between First Class and Days of Future Past.  Magento is captured and Mystique seems to be just chilling and not trying to get Magneto out.  Did they have a lovers quarrel, with those two I wouldn’t be shocked.  It might have had something to do with her sleeping with Azazel, obviously Nightcrawler must become a thing.  Please let Quicksilver know that Magneto is his father or find out during the movie.  I really don’t want another Mystique – Nightcrawler thing from X2, it made me so mad that they never brought up he was her son.

First look at Splinter from “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles”

In this new TV spot we get our first look at Splinter in the upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie.

I am liking the look of Splinter better than the look of the Turtles.  Splinter is still a rat, I will admit I was worried about that.  From the brief image, it looks like their might be a sword in his hand.  If that is true then would make him more of a Yoda like character and I would be alright with that.

The movie will be hitting theaters on Aug 8th.

“X-Men: Days of Future Past” Opening Clip

Anyone who watched the MTV Movie Awards last night got a first look at the opening battle clip from X-Men: Days of the Future Past.  If you did not see like myself because you were watching Game of Thrones, well we have the clip right here:

I like the clip, it gives you some insight into the powers of the new characters such as Blink, Bishop, and Sunspot.  You still get to see some returning characters such as Kitty Pryde and Iceman.  I have to say I like the clip, it really show how well the group works as a team.  I did love finally seeing Iceman use his ice gliding ability that he is known for.  I am not sure how I feel about the look of the sentinels, they almost look like aliens.  They look different from sentinels as I know them and also different from the sentinels that are first introduced in the movie.  I guess they are doing a Terminator where the machines are alway evolving and becoming more advanced.

X-Men: Days of Future Past will be in theaters on May 23rd.

TMNT teaser posters

Four new teaser posters have been released for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

While these teaser posters look amazing, it’s also because they are only showing their hands. More importantly, they are just showing the weapons that they use. I am very happy that they kept the iconic weapons and did not mess them up. Since I have seen full photos from the movie and the trailer, I know the Turtles do not look this awesome.

“Godzilla” extended look trailer

A new Godzilla extended look trailer has been released.

This trailer gives a better look into the lives of main characters, while still only giving us parts of the Godzilla monster.  As I have said before I hope that we only get parts of Godzilla for most of the movie.  It will help keep the suspense going, even though we already know what Godzilla is suppose to look like.

I wish I could say that I am super excited to see this movie but I am not, it’s a tale that has been told many times and I already know it.  The trailer is not exciting me so while I will probably see it eventually, I don’t see myself rushing of to the theater to see it.

 

New images of the Green Goblin from ‘Amazing Spider-Man 2’

They have released the first official images of the Green Goblin, while I can say that I like the look of the Green Goblin.  You can see how sinister the character is just by looking at him.  It is also obvious that he took some form of serum to make him look like this.

The Green Goblin definitely looks different from the way Harry Osborn normally looks.  While you can still tell that the Green Goblin and Harry Osborn are same actor, there are a lot of significant physical changes, which includes the loss of the emo hair.  I do appreciate all the physical changes they made to Dane DeHaan, so that the Green Goblin looks completely different; the hair, the skin, teeth, and even the nose.

Now that I am done talking about the look of the Goblin, lets talk about how Harry Osborn is the Green Goblin.  We all know that Harry takes over the Green Goblin after his father dies.  Norman Osborn has to be the Green Goblin first, by the looks of it they are skipping that part entirely, especially based on this picture:

We all know that Green Goblin is the one who pushes Gwen Stacy, thus causing Peter Parker to kill her while he haves her.  The Goblin that did that was Norman Osborn, not Harry Osborn.  I guess this is not that big of a change but the death of Norman Osborn is what causes Harry Osborn to become the next Green Goblin.  I am guessing that Harry is going to become the Green Goblin the same way his dad did and go after Spider-Man for the same reason.  I guess we will see how this plays out in 2 months, but I will admit I am not fully happy about Harry being the first Green Goblin.
