The news broke at Houston’s Comicpalooza, where Agent Carter herself, Hayley Atwell sat down with fans at a Q&A styled panel. In addition to mentioning an upcoming set visit to the “Captain America: Civil War” set (but not clarifying whether this was going to be a cameo or just a friendly visit), Atwell also mentioned that “Agent Carter” has been picked up for a second season by ABC, and with 10 new episodes (the first season was only 8, amazing episodes though they were). The new season takes place is 1940s Los Angeles instead of New York, and the premiere date hasn’t been set yet, but you can watch footage from the panel below:
Scully and Mulder are coming back to television for a 6-part story to air on Fox. Although the air date hasn’t been released yet, production is stating this summer with Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny reprising their roles. Series creator Chris Carter is heading the project for 20th Century Fox TV.
“I think of it as a 13-year commercial break,” Carter said. “The good news is the world has only gotten that much stranger, a perfect time to tell these six stories.”
“The X-Files” ran for 9 seasons and spawned two feature films.
A lot of Game of Thrones news has broken out today, the first one being the leaked trailer from Season 5:
I won’t go into a lot since I know what happens, but the trailer is good, it shows just about everyone, we know that this season will not have Bran. I did like the glimpses of the Sand Snakes, Prince Oberyn’s daughters, they are amazing characters. Still upset that my fav character from the Dorne will not be in this season. As you can see there will be some things happening at The Wall. Tyrion has been taken somewhere safe by The Spider. Arya has also found a place to go. Cersei will be dealing with her father’s death and Margery well I think we all knew that she was going to become Queen again. There will be a lot happening this season as they start-up books 4 and 5.
Speaking of the book, it looks like we will be waiting another year for Winds of Winter. George R. R. Martin’s publisher has said that the book will not be out this year. There is a lot going into the book, most writers put this much work into 3 books apparently. Anyone who has read the books can a test to how much information is put into each one.
While we wait we will be getting 3 prequel novellas: The Hedge Knight, The Sworn Sword, and The Mystery Knight. While having these novellas will definitely help past the time, I really want Winds of Winter. Soon I am going to forget what happened in books 4 and 5. I am hoping that we will see Winds of Winter in 2016, because then the show will be getting close. The only good thing is that they have at least 3 season with books 4 and 5, that gives George R. R. Martin this year to get it done.
News broke today that Mark Hamill will be reprising his role as Trickster on CW’s The Flash. Mark Hamill originally played the character on the 90’s Flash series on CBS.
His character will be a bit different in this version:
“In this new iteration, The Trickster is an anarchist terrorist con man serving a life sentence in Iron Heights who helps Barry (Grant Gustin) and Det. West (Jesse L. Martin) to foil the city-wide attacks of a wannabe Trickster eagerly following in the original’s deadly footsteps. The episode will reunite him with John Wesley Shipp who went up against him as the original ‘Flash’ on the CBS version.”
CW is going a bit of a different route, the Trickers will not be the goofy prankster that he had been in the original version. It will still be nice to see Mark Hamill back in the role and to see him reunited with original Flash – John Wesley Snipp.
This is not Hamill’s first time playing a comic books character, he is very well known as the voice of the Joker from Batman: The Animated Series. He reprised that role in Arkham Asylum and Akrham City video games.
He is probably most known for playing Luke Skywalker in the Star Wars films. We can see him reprise that role next year in Star War: The Force Awakens.
We will see him first as the Trickster next spring on The Flash.
DC is continuing to try and take over the airwaves, this time with a female-driven superhero show, and not on the CW/WB. It looks like we’re going to be getting a Supergirl TV series, and casting has already started.
Although Supergirl sounds like she’s being based on her silver-age origin rather than her New 52 incarnation (thank you, Jeebus), we’re also getting an original character that looks both interesting aaaaand pretty standard at this point:
With the pilot episode aired and encored, there’s not a huge amount of stuff to delve into for this budding superhero series. We do, however, have some shots from the set of a future episode, featuring a throwing between the Flash and longtime nemesis Professor Zoom. For those who don’t know, Professor Zoom is sort of the Anti-Flash, meaning that he’s like an evil version, not that he’s completely the opposite and has three-toed-sloth-based-powers or something like that.
But, even if you didn’t know that, you might have gotten it from context clues in the following photos.
Fox’s “Gotham” is already moving forward with plans for its second season, adding another future villain to its cast.
Nicholas D’Agosto (Masters of Sex) has signed on to play Harvey Dent. Although D’Agosto looks very young, he is in his mid-30s, so it appears that he’ll be a contemporary of Jim Gordon’s rather than young Bruce Wayne.
How exactly they’re going to play that remains to be seen. Personally, I’ll be eagerly anticipating all of the double entendres that will henceforth and forevermore be slipped into the dialogue whenever he’s around.
News has broken out that Xena herself Lucy Lawless will be joining the cast of Agents of SHIELD. This is an amazing collisions of geekdoms. There is no word on who she will be playing but we can only hope that she will either be a fellow SHIELD agent or an Asgardian. I think the one thing that everyone agrees on is that she should still be playing Xena in some way. I personally think she would make a great Asgardian and that would be a great way to keep the comic and TV universes linked.
There is also no word if she is just guest starring or if she will be a recurring character, Marvel and ABC are really keeping thing under wraps about this one. There is a chance more information will come out during Comic Con this weekend. We will keep you up to date as we hear more information.
Who is excited to hear about Xena joining the cast of Agents of SHIELD?
Casting news for OUaT broke recently, giving us the identitiies of the folks playing our favourite sisters from Arendelle and their Royal Ice Harvester and Deliverer.
Kristoff will be played by Scott Michael Foster, aged 29 and known for “Greek” and as a recurring character on “Chasing Life.”
