Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios announced that they have found their new Spider-Man, 19-year-old British actor Tom Holland. Holland is currently rumoured to be playing the webhead in both the next reboot (sigh) and “Captain America: Civil War” (gasp!).
Chosen to direct is director Jon Watts, whose recent film “Cop Car” made its debut at Sundance this past year.
The next Spider-Man movie, which is as yet unnamed, will be released in theaters in IMAX and 3D on July 28, 2017.
The news broke at Houston’s Comicpalooza, where Agent Carter herself, Hayley Atwell sat down with fans at a Q&A styled panel. In addition to mentioning an upcoming set visit to the “Captain America: Civil War” set (but not clarifying whether this was going to be a cameo or just a friendly visit), Atwell also mentioned that “Agent Carter” has been picked up for a second season by ABC, and with 10 new episodes (the first season was only 8, amazing episodes though they were). The new season takes place is 1940s Los Angeles instead of New York, and the premiere date hasn’t been set yet, but you can watch footage from the panel below:
A few of us Fangirls got to spend some time at the Comic Con and Entertainment Expo at Chicago’s McCormick Place convention centre this past weekend, attending panels, meeting nerd icons (Stan Lee!), and buying entirely too much memorabilia for which I have no space to display…
But the main thing that I enjoy at cons is cosplay. This was my first convention in a while and, while I have a bitchin’ Wonder Woman costume from Halloween, I didn’t dress up, myself. Rather, I love people-watching, photographing some of the most elaborate, the gender-swapped, the creatively altered, and just plain cutest little superheroes and villains roaming the sprawling expanse of Nerd Mecca.
Morgan. MORGAN. Morgan Morgan Morgan.
Scully and Mulder are coming back to television for a 6-part story to air on Fox. Although the air date hasn’t been released yet, production is stating this summer with Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny reprising their roles. Series creator Chris Carter is heading the project for 20th Century Fox TV.
“I think of it as a 13-year commercial break,” Carter said. “The good news is the world has only gotten that much stranger, a perfect time to tell these six stories.”
“The X-Files” ran for 9 seasons and spawned two feature films.
The episode opens on Janeway– I mean, Deanna, and her family mourning Adjen’s loss in what must be their traditional way:
With a mix tape!
Then, Carol is baking a casserole to a sick beat because that’s how she rolls. Sam visits her.
Sasha, in her birds’ nest, is tears eyed and looks to be as losing-it as ever.
A knock on he door finds Deanna with a “Sorry about your kid” casserole… Which she doesn’t accept. And she grimly burns the card.
The episode opens on Sasha, unable to sleep under the watchful eyes of some other family’s photos in the house. The next morning, she goes out “hunting,” but is really just target practicing n those same photos. As she shoots, she seems to think that someone is watching her. Or… Maybe it’s a panic attack.
Yeah. It’s a panic attack. As she waits outside of Alexandria’s gates, shaking her head and softly saying, “Come and get me,” the opening credits run.
Alexandria looks awesome. In like a Stepford Wives kind of way.
Oh, and also, there’s someone skulking about just outside of the gates, apparently. The Alexandria welcoming committee demands the surrender of their weapons(Ha!) but Aaron clears them and insists that Rick speak to Diana, the “Oz the Great and Powerful” of their little settlement.
ONCE is back, after a million years! And there are no more ice people! Just… Maleficent in the movie costume now, Ursula, who we never actually see in water, and… I still can’t figure this one out, but Cruella De Ville.
Okay. Fine. Whatever. Let’s get into it. The episode opens in a flashback in Maleficent’s castle, where URSULA is threatening her with… I dunno, tentacle porn, I guess… They are soon joined by Cruella DeVille, who immediately displays magical powers over dogs, and their meeting has been orchestrated (like just about everything in the series) by Rumplestiltskin… The fourth Queen of Darkness.
