With the pilot episode aired and encored, there’s not a huge amount of stuff to delve into for this budding superhero series. We do, however, have some shots from the set of a future episode, featuring a throwing between the Flash and longtime nemesis Professor Zoom. For those who don’t know, Professor Zoom is sort of the Anti-Flash, meaning that he’s like an evil version, not that he’s completely the opposite and has three-toed-sloth-based-powers or something like that.
But, even if you didn’t know that, you might have gotten it from context clues in the following photos.
CW’s The Flash has added another character to the show; Patrick Sabongui will be playing Captain David Singh. Captain Singh is the director of the Central City crime lab, which is where Barry Allen works. In the comics, Captain Singh is not a huge fan of Barry Allen; the Captain was forced to hire Barry Allen. The role looks to be a potentially occurring one, if the series is picked up. It look like we might be seeing Sabongui’s character in pilot episode.
A promo image has emerged revealing the Flash’s full costume for the upcoming CW solo series. A textured fabric covers the body, which seems like it would actually create drag… Plus armoured bits appear to cover the wrists, the head, and parts of the chest, back, thighs, and calves.
Overall, though, it does stick to the classic Flash red and yellow. Just with that now cliche DC movie superhero costume flair.
What do you think?
Personally… Those gloves look ill-fitted and his shoes look oddly soft.
We’ll post updates as better quality and fuller pictures emerge.
CW and DC Comics have revealed part of the Flash’s costume for the upcoming The Flash TV Show that will be airing on the CW this fall.
Based on the head of the costume we can see that the iconic lighting bolt is going to be a part of the costume, just not as high. It looks like they went with a darker red color instead of fire engine red. The mask coverage seems to cover the exact same areas as the New 52 costume. In the show, the costume looks like it will be made of leather.
The costume was designed by three time Oscar winner Colleen Atwood who also designs the costumes for Arrow.
I like the direction of the show costume or at least what I can see from the top part of it. It looks like they are trying to stick to the original costume as close as possible while still trying to modernize it. I like the lower lighting bolts because its more subdued but also because I can’t help but think those high ones are going to get caught on something. I am a huge fan of the darker red color because the fire engine red was just too bright. I like the fact that they choose the leather look because it just feels like it will fit the look they have with Arrow, I can only guess they are going with a similar look for the Flash’s show.
Are you excited with the how the costume looks?
