A lot of breaking news stories today, the first one being that Hermione herself has been cast in a live action version of Beauty and the Beast. Emma Watson will be playing none other than Belle, which is a great role for her. Watson let fans know on Facebook:
“I’m finally able to tell you… that I will be playing Belle in Disney’s new live-action Beauty and the Beast! It was such a big part of my growing up, it almost feels surreal that I’ll get to dance to ‘Be Our Guest’ and sing ‘Something There’. My six year old self is on the ceiling – heart bursting. Time to start some singing lessons. I can’t wait for you to see it. Emma xx”
I get very excited when I hear that an actor is excited for their role, that always makes me very happy and hopeful. The movie will be directed by Guillermo del Toro, no word yet on who will be playing the Beast.
In other casting news The Doctor himself has been cast as a villain in the upcoming Jessica Jones TV series on Netflix. David Tennant will be playing Killgrave who is one of the main villains. The creators of the show are very excited to have him on board. Jessica Jones will be played by Krysten Ritter.
In TV show news, Fox is in negotiations with Marvel about creating an a live action X-Men TV show. While Fox does own the right to the X-Men franchise, the fully extent of the rights are not known. It is not shocking to see Fox jump on the live action show bandwagon since Marvel has had success with Agents of SHIELD.
Nothing is set in stone, we would not see the show before 2016, but they are hopeful for the show. Especially since Fox has had such great success with Gotham, some of the people from 24 and Star Trek 3 are being names as producers and writers on the show.
I would love to see a live action X-Men show, it would be interesting to see which of the comics they would use and what storylines they would use. It could be really interesting because there are a lot of great stories to choose from. With the younger cast they have for the movies they could start off with a some of the earlier storylines. That is if it will be the same cast from the movies, but that would be absolutely awesome, since it is an ensemble cast, they could very easily rotate people. I am curious to see what happens with this development.
Those are all the new stories that broke out today, but it was a great day for news. We will do our best to keep you up to date will all of these stories and more.
It’s not much, but it’s a start.
“Into the Woods” comes out on Christmas Day.
OR, “Something’s wrong with Sleeping Beauty, you guys…”
So, three of us from TFP went to a Thursday evening showing of Disney’s newest live-action film, “Maleficent,” starring Angelina Jolie in the titular role.
It was… Rather different than perhaps we had been expecting.
Spoilers after the jump.
So… I recently Netflixed this series. I caught up to the show just in time for the season finale. And I have a problem.
And I’ve had this problem from the start.
So, no, I’m not going to talk about that little teaser at the end and the character they’re introducing next season. Because, really, until I see exactly what they do with her, I give zero fucks.
And I’m not going to talk about how positively irritating all this shit about Snow White and Charming and they’re star-crossed yet true love thing is. WE GET IT. They love each other. It took them a long time to get to that point. Do we have to keep having flashbacks and time travel and just basically revisit storylines that already super old and this show is only a few seasons in?!
Welcome to a quick (okay, not so quick) guide to helping to save the Magic Kingdom!
As all should be aware the Magic Kingdom is under constant threat of numerous Villains, the leader in this threat seems to be Hades, who has access to all villains alive and dead (a little creepy when you think about it too much). Disney World is always on the look out for heroes to help save the Magic Kingdom. If you’re a willing volunteer, unafraid the perils of villains and throngs of masses also attending the festivities of the Magic Kingdom, then you can become a Secret Sorcerer.
Once you’ve taken the ferry or the monorail over to the awe inspiring world of Disney World’s Magic Kingdom, you find yourself on the streets of Main Street USA. If you’re lucky the first thing you’ll see will be a horse…
…and that horse will be pulling a car full of happy peppy singers…
If you’re like me, once you’ve recovered from the frightened shock of the energy these positive creatures exude, and your eye has stopped twitching because it’s still just 9:00AM, you’ll want to make you’re way over to the Firehouse.

The current rumor going around is that Bradley Cooper might take over the role of Indiana Jones. Disney has acquired the rights to the Indiana Jones franchise. We all know how much Disney likes putting out movies as soon as they acquire rights, they are already about to enter production for Star Wars: Episode VII.
The two things that are being said it that an Indiana Jones movie is two to three years away, which mean Harrison might not be up for playing that role again, in which case they will have to reboot. Another rumor going around is that if Lucas, Spielberg, and Ford cannot agree on the 5th Indiana Jones movies within a year that Disney will reboot the series.
These are untrue rumors so all the Indiana Jones fans can breathe easy. Slash films had this to say: “We’ve contacted a high-placing source who tells /Film the story is not true.” It is just a rumor, Indiana Jones will not be getting a reboot.
Disclaimer: Don’t drink yourself to death. Really. That is completely within the realm of possibility, and we’d really rather nobody died from an alcohol overdose caused by a drinking game they got off of a FanGirling blog and inspired by the release of a Disney movie on DVD and Blu-Ray. This game has been posted for entertainment purposes only, and we expect our fans to be as smart as we like to think they are. Enjoy!
To celebrate the release of the hit movie “Frozen” on DVD and Blu-Ray, the FanGirls have written up a little drinking game to make your repeat viewings of the movie a little more interesting. Presenting the first ever TFP Drinking Game:
Take a drink – Every time Elsa Rejects Anna
Do a shot – Whenever Hans seems entirely too perfect
Drink for 5 seconds – Every time Olaf falls apart
Take a drink – Whenever Elsa’s powers go crazy
Play flippy cup (last place takes a shot) – For every scene with a troll in it
Chug a beer – Whenever a character breaks out into song
Take a drink – Whenever Olaf calls Kristoff Sven
Play quarters – Whenever Anna asks to build a snowman
Have fun, be smart, and let’s all
get wasted build a snowman together!
This week’s nail art inspiration comes from Disney/Pixar’s “Finding Nemo,” which, I’m always shocked to find out, a lot of people still haven’t seen.
If you haven’t seen this adorable and heartwarming and really, and truly, hilarious movie, you need to stop whatever you’re doing– WHATEVER you’re doing, I don’t care, you need to go and watch it right now.
Because it’s so inspirational that I painted my nails. And that’s a metaphor for something, I’m sure. And metaphors are important.
And I’ll spare you a Rachel Berry gif.
On to the nails!
Apply your base coats of colours. I did an accent nail, so you’ll notice a bunch of orange and then one blue. We’ll come back to the blue one later.
So, you start with your orange. I only had one orange on hand, and little did I realise that it was one of those “Sugar Coat” or whatever fuzzy, textures tints. Ah, well. I’m not fussy, so we shall work with what we’ve got.
Now, bust out your white nail polish pen and draw yourself some big, fat, squiggly lines. Make ’em chunky and uneven.
Then, once that’s dry, use your black nail polish pen to follow your egdes and outlines them.
Clear coat and clean up and you’ve got your Marlon/Nemo/Clownfish nails!
Over on the accent nail, ignore the fact that I had laid down a blue base coat and paint it a gold or yellow instead.
Paint your sides blue, leaving a gold/yellow stripe that tapers off towards the tip of the nail still visible in the centre.
Using your black paint pen once again, trace the edges between your yellow and your black.
Clear coat that nail and clean up and you’re done!
You now have four clownfish nails and your accent nail, if you’ve chosen to do one, is a blue tang AKA Dory!
I hope you’ve enjoyed our tutorial and that you were able to follow my slightly muddled instructions this week!
Idris Elba is in negotiations to do the voice of Shere Khan the villainous tiger in The Jungle Book. The movie will be directed by John Favreau of the Iron Man franchise. The movie is said to be a combination of live action and VFX, which make sense because I can’t see any other way of doing the movie. If they want to keep it true to the story then this would be the only way to do it.
This is one of many live action movies/tv shows that Disney is working on. Disney has Maleficent coming out this year, they are working on a Cruella, Peter Pan, and Beauty and the Beast movies. They are also in working on an Esmerelda tv show that might tie in with the Once Upon a Time series.
Are you excited for live action Disney movies or do you think they should stay animated?
Howdy, nerds and nerdettes! Welcome to the first installment of Manicure Mondays! If you follow us on Facebook already, and you totally should, you’ve probably already seen some of the styles we’ve done, but today’s is different. Today’s manicure includes a tutorial so you can achieve the same results at home!
This icy design is inspired by the Disney movie “Frozen” and the Eternal Winter that those of us in the American MidWest are also currently experiencing. This manicure is, frankly, fucking adorable, and you can achieve the same results by following the steps below.
First, paint your base layer. I went with a very pale blue-gray for all but the accent nail. For that one, which is only on one hand for me rather than both because screw trying to do detail work with my left hand, I picked a much deeper shade of blue to contrast with the white I’ll be using later.
After that, I used a semi-opaque, sparkly turqoise and painted about 1/3 up from the cuticle (and please ignore how bad they look, since I am backwards and clean up my cuticles after I finish painting my nails).
Use a Q-Tip or your finger to smudge it around and give it a faded effect towards the middle of the nail.
Paint about 1/3 of the nail from the tip inwards with an opaque white polish.
Repeat the smudging, towards the centre of the nail. It should look like this.
Use a sparkly clear coat to give the illusion of frost on all nails except the accent nail, and then clear coat all of them, including the accent nail.
To create the snowflake, use a white nail polish pen on top of your dried top coat in this pattern:
Give the nail one more layer of top coat after the white pen polish dries.
If it’s not shiny enough for you, you can apply more clear sparkles, but be sure to give it a top coat when you’re done. Clean up any fuck-ups with a cotton pad and some acetone, and you’re done!
Pretty darn simple manicure with very cute results, so hopefully you can let the little things like this remind you why you don’t want to set your house on fire just to feel a moment’s warmth!
Until next week, when we’ll be doing an homage to “Game of Thrones,” the exact opposite of “Frozen!”
