Here we are at a new episode of SHIELD and this was one looks to be a lot more promising then the last episode. Really the only highlights of last weeks is that Mac can understand Fitz a bit, Raina is back, and we saw Skye’s dad. Yes, they really killed off Xena after one episode.
Agents of Shield is back for another exciting season, if we all remember what happened last season. Garrett and Ward were Hydra agents, SHIELD was destroyed, Coulson was made Director, some alien DNA brought Coulson back, and Skye’s father is some red creature.
Here we are at the season finale of SHIELD, very happy to say that it is the season finale and that we will be seeing the show again next year. The most important things to remember from last episode is that Garrett now has GH325 in him. Ward is possibly an ass because he ejected Fitz and Simmons into the ocean. We learned Ward’s back story and he has always been Hydra. Oh, that the Howling Commandos had some really awesome gadgets back in the day.
Here we are again for another episode of Agents of SHIELD, last week we found out the truth about Ward, I am still rather upset about that. The rest of Coulson’s team found an underground SHIELD bunker to stay at for now.
Well here, we are after last week’s crazy episode where we learned that we pretty much can’t trust anyone. (Still some spoilers for Captain America: Winter Solider)
Well this is one of the most anticipated episodes of Agents of SHIELD. Quick recap, Ward shot Thomas Nash who they thought was the Clairvoyant. Turns out the Clairvoyant is in SHIELD and SHIELD is currently controlling the plane. They found out about May’s secret phone. This episode contains Spoilers for Captain America: Winter Solider – since I have the movie, I will be making tie in references you have been warned.
(Spoilers – last warning this will contain some spoilers for Captain America: Winter Solider.)
After a 2 weeks break we get an all new episode, I have to say I am happy that there will be no more breaks between episodes. Let’s recap last episode, well Lorelei escaped from Asguard and enslaved Ward. Lady Sif came down to bring Lorelei back to Asguard. While Ward was enslaved, we discovered that he cares about someone on the team who is not May.
This episode starts with Agent Garrett and Agent Triplett being attacked by Deathlok. I still don’t like his chest piece.
Deathlok attacking them makes Agent Garrett think that they are getting close to the Clairvoyant.
Victoria Hand, Agent Garrett, Agent Triplett, Agents Sidwell and Agent Blake all come aboard the Bus. Of course, most of them are wondering why they are there. Since the team knows that the Clairvoyant is on to them, Coulson has come up with a plan, where they do not tell everyone all the information so it is harder for the Clairvoyant to ‘see’ all the information. Coulson mentions that he has an amazing hacker who can help them. Victoria Hand mentions how she would have to be a SHIELD agent and Coulson says that is something else he wanted to discuss.
Fitz and Simmons are talking about how they cannot find anything in Skye’s blood and how they wish they could send the sample out. May over hears them and asks if either Coulson or Skye are showing any weird symptoms. Simmons tells her no and then May tells them to let her know if they do. What does May know? What was she sent there to find out?
The team meets with Skye, where Coulson presents her with a SHIELD badge, telling her that she earned it. Garrett mentions how she took 2 bullets which is more than Sidwell has. Coulson’s team congratulates her, even May and it was obvious that Ward likes Skye during this scene.
Victoria Hand and Sidwell will not be participating in the mission but Victoria agrees to monitor and help them from HQ. I wondering if Sidwell could not participate because he was busy on Captain America. Skye then tells them that she will come up three different possible people who could be the Clairvoyant. Three teams of two people will go out after that person, she will only tell one member of that team where they are going and then send the information about the target to the other member of the team. This way only those team members know where they are and whom they are going after.
The Clairvoyant gives Deathlok a gift, a wrist gauntlet that at first kinda looked like the bracelets that Wonder Woman has. The Clairvoyant tells Deathlok that they are going to meet because the team is closing in on him.
Garrett and Skye finally meet officially because you know being in a coma doesn’t count, Garrett asks her how she is doing. Garrett then shows off his war wounds. Nothing says team bonding like showing off your war wounds.
Ward and Triplett are one team; Triplett says how he will kill the Clairvoyant when they find him. Ward reminds him that the mission is to bring in the Clairvoyant not kill him.
Triplett tells Ward how the Clairvoyant killed his partner, Triplett wonders if Ward would feel the same way if Skye hadn’t made it. Does everyone know that Ward likes Skye?
Coulson and Garrett are the another team; they are talking about a past mission that Garrett had completely forgot that Coulson was there.
Also they are going after a female, I am pretty sure everyone has said the Clairvoyant is a male.
The third team is May and Blake, Blake is apparently nervous or something because he keeps trying to ask May if she is a Scorpio. Which prompts May to say, ‘you don’t believe in the Clairvoyant but you believe in Astrology.” May and Blake are going after Thomas Nash – once they are inside the building Deathlok shows up.
Well I am guessing that May and Blake are on the right track. Deathlok begins firing at them and May fires back with a gun, May is using a gun, I get shocked every time I see it happen. Deathlok goes after Blake and knocks him out. May calls to let them know that they have an Agent down and Victoria sends people.
We learn that before Blake got injured that he managed to put a trace on Deathlok so they know where he is going. Triplett talks with Simmons about something before he leaves to go after Deathlok. Simmons looks very happy to see Triplett, does she return his crush? What is up with the bus does everyone on here have a crush on someone. Also I would like to point out that Fitz did not seem jealous about this at all which proves that my theory that they are do not like each other but more like siblings or best friends.
The team gets ready to enter into the abandon building where Deathlok is currently. Skye does her hacking thing to find him but somehow he knows what she is doing and cuts the feed.
The team knows where he had been so they head in that direction. They find Deathlok who fires on them and takes off with May chasing after him.
Deathlok runs to another part of the building where Coulson who is using a rather large gun follows him. I have to say I really want to see Coulson use this gun, because it’s almost bigger then him.
As Coulson is pursuing Deathlok he runs into Garrett. Both Garrett and Coulson find Thomas Nash who is confined to a wheelchair and is using a computer to talk. In front of Nash are bunches of monitors where he can view various parts of the outside world.
Nash says that he is the Clairvoyant, the rest of the teams enter the room. Thomas Nash taunts them with information that he knows but when he brings up Skye, well Ward shoots him. Everyone looks at Ward as if he has lost his mind because Ward killed Nash.
I would like to say that I am not buying Thomas Nash as the Clairvoyant because it seems too easy.
Back on the bus Skye visits Wards asking him why he shot Nash and what will happen to him. Ward will be sent through a hearing and probably disciplined for what he has done.
Fitz is tinkering about in the bottom of the bus where he finds a secret phone line. Coulson and Skye talk about how they don’t think Nash was the Clairvoyant and they both come up with how the Clairvoyant knows everything that SHIELD seems to know. Since Coulson’s records were never released that is why the Clairvoyant could not ‘see’ it. That is when they realize that the Clairvoyant is in SHIELD. Coulson goes into the interrogation room where he demands Ward to tell him who told him to shoot Nash. Ward tells Coulson that no one did.
Fitz tells Simmons about what he found only to have May walk in on him. May ushers him out of the room and she begins to use the phone. Simmons tells Coulson how there is a secret phone line in the cockpit that only May could be using. Coulson tells her to cut the line so Fitz cuts the line before May can make her phone call. May realizes what happens and chases after Fitz. Poor Fitz, I would not want May chasing after me. Coulson finds May in the hanger bay after she tries to shoot Fitz, why is May all gun happy now?
May tells Coulson that the bullets are not real; Coulson tells May that his gun and bullets are real. Coulson is pissed and his inner badass is coming out. Skye also comes out from the shadows holding a gun pointing at May.
Coulson asks May about who the Clairvoyant is and who she is working for. May says she know nothing about the Clairvoyant and cannot tell him who sent her. May tries to convince Coulson that she is not the bad guy.
Out of nowhere, the plane reroutes and Coulson’s demands that May tells him what is going on. May has no idea who is controlling the plane.
Back at HQ, Victoria Hand is saying that they need to bring Coulson in but everyone else on the bus can be eliminated.
I knew it was Victoria Hand because I have never liked her.
This was a good episode; it started off a bit slow but not in a bad way. I like their plan to find the Clairvoyant and I really liked how Coulson told Skye how much he trusts her. Coulson knows that Skye can pick up different things because she does not think like everyone else. I would also like to remark on how everyone seems to know that Ward likes Skye even Garrett. I feel really bad for Deathlok because he has no choice in what he is doing and he really just wants to see his son again. I was on the edge of my seat when May was chasing Fitz, because I really wanted to see what she might do to him. I really think May is working for Fury because he just wanted an eye kept on Coulson. While I think it might be too easy for Victoria Hand to be the Clairvoyant, I really don’t like her so I would like it to be her. That means I am also willing to get over the fact that they usually say that the Clairvoyant is a guy.
Next, week’s episode looks to be a really good one because it seems that no one can b trusted. The team has to deal with the fact that the place is flying on its own. I am also curious to see if the next episode ties into Captain America: Winter Solider.
Until next week.
Let’s recap last weeks episode, Skye was dying so Coulson went to the facility where he was treated hoping to find something there for Skye. They gave Skye GH325, which comes from an alien but it also regenerate tissue in the body. We got to meet Agent Garrett and Triplett and May beat the shit out of Quinn.
This episode picks up exactly where the last episode left off; Lorelei and Jimmy are driving when Jimmy pulls into a biker bar. Lorelei sees a motorcycle and meets Rooster.
Rooster tells Lorelei to get rid of the Jimmy because he is a better man. During this conversation, Lorelei learns that Rooster is the leader of the biker gang, well that makes Rooster a much better choice because he comes with men.
Jimmy comes back upset that Lorelei has left him for someone else but Lorelei doesn’t care and punches him into the car with her Asgardian strength.
Skye is awake, yay the alien drug worked, granted Coulson and Simmons are doing everything to keep Skye from moving around.
Simmons keeps taking blood from Skye because she is trying to figure out what they gave her. Ward comes by to see Skye and tells her she looks better than when she was dying. Wow, Ward, you really know how to sweet-talk the ladies. Simmons has not been able to find anything weird in Skye’s blood. Simmons wants to send the blood samples to the SHIELD labs but Coulson won’t let her.
Coulson’s team is chosen to be the Asgardian welcome wagon for Sif. Ward, May and Fitz drive into the desert to look for the energy wave that will be Lady Sif. While driving the truck the energy wave comes crashing down in front of them. Thankfully, May is a really good driver because she was able stop the truck from running into the energy blast. Lady Sif is shown at the end of the blast letting them know that their world is in grave danger. Earth always seems to be in grave danger.
Back on the plane, Coulson is excited to see Sif because he had seen her fight in New Mexico in the first Thor movie against the giant robot creature that Loki sent down. When Sif first sees Coulson she freaks out because Thor had told her that Coulson was dead. Did Thor bring pictures of the Avengers with him to Asgard? I get it that he talked about his time on Earth but how would she know what any of them looked like? Coulson tells her that he is not dead and Sif informs him that Thor will be happy to hear it because he considers Coulson a friend. Coulson then asks Sif if he can be the one to tell Thor.
Now that we have the whole Coulson is alive thing out-of-the-way, Sif can talk about important issues like who Lorelei is and what her powers are. Six hundred years ago Lorelei led an army on Asgard, I should mention an army of only men. She was defeated and contained in a prison until recently (I am guessing Thor: The Dark World) and she came to Earth through one of Loki’s secret passageways. Lorelei can only control men because they have an inherent weakness that women do not have. Lorelei can control men with her voice but for the really strong ones she has to use touch. Sif has a collar with her that can contain Lorelei’s powers.
Lorelei is now wearing biker chick clothes because that is what happens when you hang out with bikers.
Apparently everything on Earth is bothering Lorelei so the guys can barely do anything. During this scene, we find out that Rooster is married, Lorelei is wearing his wife’s clothes, and his wife owns the bar. Since Rooster’s wife is annoying Lorelei, Lorelei commands Rooster to kills his wife. Now the interesting part is that Lorelei cannot change who the men are she just controls them. Rooster does feel bad about killing his wife.
Back on the plane, Coulson decides to ask Sif if she has ever seen any blue alien creatures. He would like to know what that was that he saw in the facility. Sif names off a few aliens that she has seen that are blue, one of which being the Kree.
Most people are speculating that the GH is a Kree since they play a big part in Guardians of the Galaxy. The team finds the bar where Lorelei is hiding out at with her biker gang.
The team gets to the bar where they find some cops; Coulson asks them if they have seen Lorelei and they tell him yes, she is beautiful. Great, Lorelei got to the cops; the cops start shooting at them.
Sif saves the day when she kicks a trailer over thus giving them cover.
Sif goes into the bar and begins a fight with Lorelei, after she beat up the biker gang when they try to stop her.
Coulson tells Ward to go around to the back of the bar. Rooster begins to fight with Ward, which of course is a wasted fight. Lorelei watches the fight from the top of the roof. She naturally realizes that Ward is a much better prospect. Lorelei does her mind control thing on Ward, I blame this one on Coulson, Sif said that Lorelei is able to control men not women, I would have sent in May. Lorelei and Ward ride off on one of the motorcycles.
Unfortunately, the collar to contain Lorelei was damaged in the fight so they put Fitz on it.
Skye is tired of sitting around and doing nothing so Coulson has her use her hacker skills to find all of Ward’s secret hiding places; ID’s, money, guns, etc. Outside Simmons gets frustrated that Coulson won’t let her send the samples to the SHIELD labs. Simmons gets pissing off, yells at Coulson and tells him that she will send the sample to the lab. I was so proud of Simmons in this scene; it was great to see some fire in her. Coulson tells her that will not happen until they have talked to Nick Fury. Unfortunately, Nick Fury is MIA at this time and if he doesn’t want to be found he won’t be.
Ward takes Lorelei to Caesar’s palace, which Lorelei likes. She is even happier with her choice of Ward. Ward of course tells Lorelei that he cares for her more the person on the team he has feelings for, oh poor May. Lorelei continues her mind control of Ward because she loves his berserker rage. If Ward gives Lorelei an army, she will give him a present. Ward and Lorelei have sexy time in one of Caesar’s palace rooms. Well at least Ward got lucky out of it, that is more than the other two guys can say.
Of course, there is the after sex or coitus as Sheldon would say scene, Lorelei tells Ward that she never wants to be imprisoned again. Ward tells her that he will make sure that she is never imprisoned again. Ward might be tough but I don’t see him winning in a fight against Sif.
Lady Sif is cleaning/sharping her awesome double-bladed sword. May asks if she can play with it and Sif lets her. We learn that May knows how to use a sword she just prefers her hands. Sif tells May that Ward is not the man that she knows and he might kill her. Sif sounds this like she might have some personal experience in the matter. May tells her that Ward won’t kill her, but he can try, props to May for knowing that she is a badass and a better fighter then Ward.
The team finds the room where Ward and Lorelei had sexy time and May notices the unmade bed. Coulson asks May back on the plane if the fact that something happened between Lorelei and Ward is going to be a problem. May tells him that it is not an issue, but Coulson knows that May wouldn’t tell him if it was. Coulson asks May since Ward and her are similar what would he do next. Fitz tells Sif that he fixed the collar and invites her to look it over. The plane starts up and begins to fly off, May tell Coulson that she would take out the team. Fitz locks Sif in the room and Ward is flying the plane.
Fitz stops Coulson from getting to Sif, but Coulson is smart and pretends to also be under Lorelei’s control in order to get Fitz to tell him what happened to Skye and Simmons. Ward pushes the button that opens the roof of the interrogation room, which causes Sif to fly out of the room. May finds Lorelei and begins to fight her because well May wants her plane back. Granted May doesn’t stand a chance against Lorelei because well Lorelei is Asgardian. Ward comes in and Lorelei kisses him and then tells May that Ward said he had feeling for someone who is not her. May of course really does not care because well she is just sleeping with Ward.
Coulson goes down to the where Simmons and Skye are and frees them but not before almost getting his head bashed in by Simmons. Simmons was not sure if he was normal or under mind control. Skye tells Coulson that Sif was thrown out of the plane but Coulson tells them that Sif is Asgardian so they should open up the door. Skye does this and Sif climbs back into the room just in time to find Lorelei grabbing her sword. Lorelei tried to get Sif to not fight her and just let her be. Sif will not allow that to happen so then Lorelei taunts Sif about her unrequited loves, namely Thor. We all knew that Sif had a thing for Thor, now it has been confirmed. The Sif and Lorelei fight and during the fight Sif grabs the other part of her sword and it breaks into two pieces, now they both have swords.
May and Ward fight as well during this time which ends with May and Ward on the floor with a gun pointed at May’s head. Fitz sees Simmons running around the plane and he goes off to grabs her. It seems like he is trying to protect her from Lorelei. As Fitz is running after Simmons, Coulson punches him in the face and knocking him out. Sif manages to best Lorelei as Lorelei taunts her about knowing what Thor is like. It seems that Lorelei controlled Thor and caused that six hundred year war. Sif managed to put the collar on Lorelei, which stops her from talking. May and Ward are lying on the floor, Ward apologizes before he shoots May.
Nothing comes out of the gun because May had taken the clip out. Ward gets up and says that he is fine and Sif confirms it but May punches him anyway. I don’t blame May, Ward almost killed her.
Sif take Lorelei away, but before she goes, Sif apologizes for all the damage that was done to the plane. May lets her know that the plane has seen worse. Coulson asks Sif why she is bringing Lorelei back. Sif says that she is a good warrior and Odin commands it.
(SPOILER for Thor: The Dark World)
I am wondering if it was Odin-Odin or Loki-Odin that commanded Sif to bring Lorelei back. Coulson tells May that she should talk with Ward about what happened and May tells Coulson he should do the same thing with Skye.
May is getting the plane ready for take off when Ward visits her, to apologize for what had happened. May tells him that he didn’t hurt her and that he needs to be honest with himself, because he was more honest with Lorelei then he was with her. I guess May and Ward will no longer be having sex.
Coulson visits Skye to tell her about what he saw, but Skye does not care. She is happy that it worked and was able to save them both. This angers Coulson because nothing seems to faze Skye. Skye talks about how they are both in the dark about everything, but they were saved by an alien and how she is an 0-8-4. Coulson then vows that they will find out everything and they are going to start with the person that shot her.
Onto the bonus scene, we hear Coulson and Skye talking, only it’s coming through a speaker in the cockpit of the plane. May was listening on the conversation, why was May listening in. Then May picks up a hidden phone in the console, she dials a number and says that Coulson knows. WTF, apparently May was sent there to keep an eye on Coulson. I am guessing the Nick Fury was the one who sent her.
Of course, I was happy to see Lady Sif in this episode; it was great to see more with of her. Especially since she was so under developed in the movies and since Whedon is writing this show, I had hopes that Sif would be a stronger character. She was and she wasn’t, I got to see more of her character background and her awesome fighting skills. At the same time, there was not much more than what I had seen with her character before. I am happy that they are incorporating characters from the various Avengers lore; in this case, it is characters from Thor.
I will say this I am not all for the love triangles, granted May and Ward are done so it is not a triangle but still I don’t like that there was an implied one. At first, I thought that Ward and Skye would make a cute couple and I thought that maybe Ward had something for Skye.
I would be fine with Skye and Ward but I don’t like him having unrequited feelings for Skye that he was hiding. More importantly, that Ward was hiding from them by sleeping with May. While we are talking about May can we talk about how she is spying on Coulson. It has to be for Fury because there is no other person who would do that. May is the same level as Coulson so she would know things. I am trying not to hold this against May and I am going to wait two weeks before passing judgment on her.
It will be two weeks before we have another new episode of Agents of SHIELD. Next week we will be getting some behind the scene information to upcoming Marvel movies and Agents of SHIELD.
Now that the Olympics are over, Agents of SHIELD is back, yay. Lets recap where we left off, Mike Peterson is officially Deathlok and wishes that he could see his son. Ian Quinn is an asshole because he shot Skye, left her for dead and now Skye is fighting for her life.
This episode starts with the team getting Skye to a hospital.
The team looks rather upset while they wait for work from the doctor. Poor Fitz is blaming himself because he did not go in there with Skye.
The doctor comes out and tells them that the damage was too much and they are doing all that they can to make her comfortable but her family needs to be called because a choice will have to be made. Coulson tells the doctor that they are Skye’s family, thus causing the doctor to give her condolences. Seriously, Agents of SHIELD this is how you want to start the episode with all the feels.
Agent May is pissed off so she goes into the interrogation room where they are holding Quinn and beats the shit out of him.
I have said it before I never want to be on May’s bad side well this moment proved it. Coulson tells May to stop and they leave the room, where Coulson tells her they are going to the facility that brought him back to life. The likelihood is that one of the doctors there can save Skye. May pilots the jet with Ward as the co-pilot.
Coulson decides that Levels be damned and give his file to Fitz and Simmons to read. He is hoping that they can find something in there that might help Skye. After going over everything Simmons admits that they only understands about 70% of what is in the file. That worries me because FitzSimmons are well brilliant. There might be something in there that will help Skye, GH325. What is a GH325? No one seems to care because all they want to do is help Skye, GH325 might work because it apparently helped Coulson’s heart begin to repair itself.
While they are flying to where they think that Coulson had been treated (let’s be fair they have no idea) they are boarded by another SHIELD plane. Coulson was worried that they might scratch the paint. This plane contains Agent Garrett (Bill Paxton – very excited to see him) and Agent Triplett.
They are there to take Ian Quinn to the Fridge; of course, Garrett knows Coulson and Triplett knows Ward. Triplett asks Ward how Coulson got the Playboy jet, Ward replies, “he died”. Triplett lets Ward know that he will do whatever it takes to take Quinn off the plane this causes a fight between Ward and Triplett. I swear Ward needs to hit something every episode. Coulson stops the fight because he tells them that Garrett has permission to question Quinn on the Bus.
Coulson and Garrett go into the interrogation room where Quinn does not look so good. Well that’s what he gets for shooting Skye and pissing off May. I do not have any sympathy for him. Garrett is a bit upset that he can’t do the bad cop routine because well May beat him to it. Garrett starts to question him about Deathlok and Cybertech.
During questioning Quinn decides to be a smart ass, not the best idea, because Garrett pulls Quinn’s tongue almost out of his mouth. Quinn is pretty much told that if he does not help them or if Skye dies, that Coulson will push him off the plane. Quinn eventually tells them that he shot Skye because the Clairvoyant told him too. I would like to mention I am over the Clairvoyant this character needs to go. The only thing, that the Clairvoyant cannot see is how Coulson survived. Basically they were set up, the Clairvoyant is worse than the Game of Throne characters when it comes to this. The teams debates if they should take Skye to the facility because it could lead the Clairvoyant there. They decide to that they need to save Skye.
Fitz gets access to the all of SHIELD administrative files from a friend of his, which comes in a really cool look blue cube. When it is enlarged, it is full of files, lots and lots of digital files. Fitz and Simmons just begin swiping their way through all the information and some how always manage to find what they are looking for. I have no idea how they do that because I would be absolutely lost in that thing. They find a piece of information that is encrypted, which leads Fitz to ask what would Skye do. I feel like WWSD should be a thing now. Well Fitz pushed on everything and it turns out the file was not encrypted but that it was actually a map of where the facility that worked on Coulson is, WWSD for the win.
They land in front of the facility, Coulson, Ward, Garrett, and Fitz go in while Simmons, Triplett and May stay behind. I would like to also comment on how pretty much everyone is wearing battle gear and bulletproof vest, you know protection, and Coulson is still just wearing his suit. I am beginning to think Coulson is like Fred Flintstone and that he has nothing else in his closet. Coulson rings the doorbell of the secret facility because let’s be fair they all have doorbells. The two guys inside ask Coulson a secret question that if you are supposed to be there you know the secret answer to. Well of course, they don’t know the answer so Coulson tries to appeal to their human side. Well apparently, they don’t have one because they will not let them in. Ward then shoots the camera as Fitz prepares to break them in. The two guys on the inside prepare to be breached.
When they are inside the building Fitz realizes the coms are not working.
Garrett says it is probably for the best, they wouldn’t want the others to hear what is happening. Fitz figures out that they are safe until they get past the bulletproof doors. Once Fitz gets them past the doors, everyone runs for cover because the two guards begin to shoot at them. Coulson tries to reason with the guards again because it worked so well the first time but the guards keep firing. Ward and Garrett do all the shooting; once that is done, they realize one of the guards is wounded, so they follow his blood trail. The boys realize that the guard triggered the explosive devices around the facility. There was a timer set for less then ten minutes and the door are sealed. Fitz remarks that Skye would be able to hack it, again WWSD. Coulson asks Garrett to try and stop the bomb since he knows the most about that.
Back on the plane, Triplett pretty much is telling Simmons how awesome she is and how he hopes when he is in something like this that, she is on his team.
I was not feeling Triplett during the scene I felt like he was up to something, but he was hitting her. I just could not fathom the thought of hitting on someone at a time like that but to each their own. May comes in and tells them that the coms are down and if they do not hear anything from the boys in an hour then she is going in. I love how badass May is; she is just like I will beat up everyone. Skye then goes into cardiac arrest, but Simmons is able to stabilize her. Skye does this a few more times, Simmons wonders if this is what Skye would want.
Back on the facility, Coulson has a mini flashback to being there. Fitz is able to find the GH325.
Coulson tells Fitz to leave with the GH325 while he goes looking around, he finds a panel that says T.A.H.I.T.I. Maybe Coulson really did go to Tahiti after all. Garrett and Ward blow the front door open, Fitz runs towards plane with the GH325. Garrett tells Ward to go with Fitz, while he goes back for Coulson. Garrett goes back for Coulson who is found a bit dazed but leaving the building saying that they can’t give the GH325 to Skye. May is taking off in the plane just as Garrett and Coulson run onto the plane before the facility blows. Coulson tells them not to give the GH325 to Skye but it is too late Simmons had already administered it. Skye’s heart rate goes up, which is good but then it continues to go up, not good. Skye has what looked like a seizure but then stops when her heart rate goes back to normal. Coulson still has the dazed look on his face when he leaves the room. May asks Garrett what happened but Garratt doesn’t know.
May asks to talk with Coulson in his office because she is wondering if he will tell her what is wrong. May questions Coulson about why he was screaming for them not to give the GH325 to Skye. Coulson says that he did not want Skye to have the reaction that he did to it, but she didn’t. Coulson flashes to what he saw in the facility. He was in a room looking around and he saw something that said GH, so he opens it. In a liquid tube was half of an alien, it seems that the GH comes from an alien life form. All I could think when I saw that was WTF. Also maybe Skye is reacting well the GH325 because she is an alien because lets face it she is a 0-8-4.
Garrett takes Quinn from the plane and tells Coulson they will probably see each other again because Triplett has eyes for Simmons.
In the bonus scene we see a newly wed couple who are getting ready to drive off I guess on their honeymoon. The girl goes into the shop to get a map. This weird lady comes up to the guy and starts drinking his water asking him where in Midgard is she. All I could think was Thor; the guy (Jimmy) tells her that she is in Death Valley. The lady is shocked that the Jimmy does not seem to be attracted to her and likes his loyalty to his new bride. Some how she gets the Jimmy to ditch his new bride and to give her a ride, in the car the guy is professing his devotion to her and we find out her name is Lorelei.
I definitely had a lot of feels at the beginning of this episode, they basically told us that Skye was going to die. I should have known that Coulson wouldn’t let that happen. I was not sure what to think about Agent Garrett and Triplett in the beginning because I thought they might be playing them. After awhile it seemed that they were cool, but I am still going to keep an eye on them just in case, you should always trust first impressions. I do appreciate in this episode how everyone on the team showed how much they care about Skye. Ward and May punched people, Fitz blamed himself, and Simmons did everything she could to keep Skye alive. Well Coulson just would not give up on saving her. At first, I was definitely confused about what GH325 was. All I knew is that could help repair damaged cells and tissue. Then I saw Coulson’s flashback and found out it came from an alien, of course I went WFT when I saw the alien. After I saw Skye’s reaction to it, I wonder if she reacted better because she might be an alien herself. Since she is a rather human looking, does that mean she might from Asgard? I am hoping we get some more answers to this because now my interest is peaked.
Next week Lady Sif comes to town.
Well we had a little mini hiatus there but now we have a new episode. Lets recap what happened last week Iceman – mean Donnie lures Fitz to the SHIELD academy so that Fitz can help him fix his ice gun so he can cause the polar vortex and become Blizzard. We also find out more about Skye’s past.
The team is trying to track Quinn and the Clairvoyant, Coulson finds a train that Cybertech is using to transport a package, and the package could lead them to Quinn. This mission is going to require some undercover work, Agent May is not happy about this.
The team goes on the train, Ward and May as a married couple, I wonder if that has anything to do with the fact they are having sex. Coulson and Simmons as father daughter and Fitz and Skye as a young couple. May and Ward get into their compartment after Ward conveniently converses in Italian. I must say Ward is sexy speaking Italian. Ward and May are in their compartment where May begins to get ready for the mission, she was wearing the sexiest outfit I have seen her wear all season. During this time, Ward finds out that Coulson knows that him and May are having sex. I appreciate how May tells him because she drops the bomb and then climbs out the window to continue the mission.
Coulson and Simmons are sitting down and Simmons tells him to not be offended if she is a bit cold but he has been an absentee father for much of her life.
Simmons learned during an earlier episode she is horrible at impromptu lying but she is great at planning so she created a back-story. Then Simmons goes on to yell at Coulson for abandoning her mom, how he was never around, how work was more important and so were his prostitutes. I cannot say how adorable Simmons was in this scene. Simmon’s ranting catches the attention of one of the train passengers Mr. Stan “The Man” Lee.
Fangirl squee moment over Stan Lee cameo, Stan Lee proceeds to yell at Coulson and tell him to be a better father. Then Stan Lee walks off with the two young ladies because lets face it Stan Lee is the Hugh Hefner of the geek world. (Which is not true in reality, Stan Lee is very happily married to his wife of 66 years.)
Fitz proves to Skye that he can talk in an American accent; Skye distracts the train conductor and lifts the keys out of his pocket. Skye and Fitz go into a room where they set up their equipment and Fitz tells Skye she is the worst pretend girlfriend he has ever had.
Simmons gets up and spills her ‘moms’ ashes on a guy. Ward comes running up as Coulson runs off to make sure they have not lost the package. A guy with a blue looking grenade comes up after them, which causes Coulson and Ward to have to jump off the train.
We find out that Ward had put on a train conductor uniform and walks out of the compartment. He runs into a lady who asks him to help her with her heavy suitcase.
The lady winds up attacking Ward because she is some kind of assassin. The fight scene between Ward and the assassin girl took way to long, if it had been May it would have taken a quarter of the time. As Ward is going down the hallway he tells Simmons to hide and then he runs into Coulson and we see a replay of them jumping off the train. The blue grenade/bomb explodes sending off a light and then the train is gone, ok where did the train go. Ward and Coulson get up only to have Ward find May’s glasses which means she is not on the train. Ward and Coulson find a car that is already on and drive off towards the bus. Coulson speasks with his Italian contact Rousso who says he will meet them on the bus. Ward tries to turn on the holo-table – this was rather hilarious.
He eventually finds on the on switch which we find out is better than Coulson has ever done. Coulson and Ward both try to use the holo-table but fail, I guess they are going to need some lessons from Fitz and Simmons. Coulson tells Ward that if that train is still on Earth SHIELD will find it, what happens if the train is no longer on Earth. Also Coulson and Ward talk about Ward sleeping with May and Coulson tells him its dumb and if he endangers the team that Coulson will ship Ward off to Alaska. Rousso walks on the plane only to have a crazy looking May who is covered in blood kill him. May why did you kill, Rousso and what happened to you.
Flash to May on top of the train getting shot at, it is never a good idea to shoot at May she doesn’t like that. May activates her parachute and lands safely on the ground where she finds a frozen Coulson and Ward. May makes sure to check their pulses to make sure they are alive. Both Coulson and Ward have this weird blue dye vain crap coming out their eyes but it begins to recede. May runs off and finds a car so that she can help Coulson and Ward. Just as May hotwires the car she is kidnapped by a bunch of guys. Cut to obligatory warehouse torture scene because let’s be fair all tortures have to happen in a warehouse, where May is dangling from the ceiling. It is obvious May is not happy and Rousso makes the dumb mistake of calling May sweetheart which she tells him was a dumb mistake with the most sadistic smile I have ever seen on her face. Rousso being the idiot that he is stabs May with a knife.
May gets free and beat up/kills his men and follows Rousso out. As Rousso is walking up the ramp of the bus towards Coulson and Ward, we see that he has a knife behind his back. Then it shows May killing him again, because Rousso had sent them up.
May is taking care of her cuts and Coulson helps her. Ward sees this and does not seem happy about it so he gets all moody. The team finds out that the blue grenade stuff freezes you shortly, which is why Coulson and Ward thought the train vanished. Instead, the train just switched tracks and is stopped randomly in the middle of the Italian countryside. The team heads to the train because they are naturally concerned about what happened to the rest of the team. Fitz and Skye’s equipment is discovered. They find a crazy Simmons who shoot at them with a night night gun but misses. Simmons then asks what happened to Fitz and Skye.
Back to before the train stopped, Skye and Fitz are talking about 0-8-4’s because Skye wants to know more about them since she might be one. According to Fitz there has not been an instance where a 0-8-4 was a human but that does not mean that it is impossible. Skye and Fitz are attacked by some of the Cyberech guys and Simmons jumps in to save them, thus causing her to be hit with the blue grenade thing. Fitz makes sure Simmons is all right and they hide her. They also figure that the blue grenade things are the same as the night night guns but just more concentrated and airborne. Skye then sees the Cybertech guys taking the package off the train. Skye convinces Fitz that they should follow them because that is what Coulson would do.
Fitz and Skye follow the Cybertech guys to Quinn’s house, Coulson was right that Cybertech would lead them to Quinn. Fitz activates his tracking device so this way everyone will know where to find them. Fitz gives Skye a night night gun; Skye goes inside while Fitz disables the cars. Skye proves to be an all right shot because she misses the first time but she knocks out a few guys. While Skye is investigating the house, she finds the package and Mike Peterson who is in a hyperbaric chamber. Naturally, since Skye is to busy paying attention to Mike she does not hear Quinn and a few guys come into the room. Quinn tells Skye that the Clairvoyant told them they would find her. I don’t know about anyone else but I am kind of over this all-knowing Clairvoyant person. Quinn lets Mike out and of course, Skye tries to talk to Mike. We find out that the Clairvoyant is the one who is giving Mike his orders. Carlos puts an artificial leg on Mike, which is actually cool because is can contract to travel size. Quinn tries to test Mike by seeing if Mike will kill him or Skye. Mike tells him that his orders are not to kill either one of them and Mike leaves the room. Quinn is unhappy about this and shoots Skye twice- WTF.
While Fitz is under the car, the rest of his team shows up, Ward walks in all badass with 2 night night guns and starts shooting at people.
Coulson goes looking for Skye. Skye who is in a great deal of pain has managed to crawl over to the door. The team captures Quinn and Coulson finds Skye. Coulson is so upset about how he finds Skye; he looks like he is about to cry – lots of feels. Simmons tells them to put Skye in the hyperbaric chamber that Mike had been in because they have to stabilize Skye. The hyperbaric chamber helps Skye but it will not keep her alive.
While on the bus Simmons tells them that Skye has to get to a hospital but she will do everything that, she can to keep Skye alive until then. While Simmons is looking for some medical supplies she starts to cry and Fitz knowing her so well manages to be there for her.
May tells Ward that he can’t blame himself for this and Ward tells her that he doesn’t, May touches Wards hand. Coulson keeps watch over Skye.
Now for bonus scene, we see Mike looking over a playground where he writes a note asking if he can see his son. He is told not yet which makes Mike mad. As the camera pans down, we see the name Deathlok written on Mike’s artificial leg. We already knew that Mike was going to become Deathlok.
First off, WTF they leave us not knowing what is going to happen to Skye. Even worse making it so we can’t find out for another month. Agent of SHIELD you guys are assholes. I will admit that Skye is the most annoying character on the show and serves a very little purpose; she is a member of the team so I don’t want to see her die. With that being said, I loved the father daughter undercover scene with Coulson and Simmons. I have to say that Simmons is hilarious and adorable in this part. I loved the Stan Lee cameo, I really wish he turned out to be the Clairvoyant but I loved the cameo just the same. I really enjoyed the scene where Coulson tells Ward that he needs to be a big boy and start using the word sex if that is all he has going on with May. Coulson did a great job of putting Ward in his place during this scene. All the feels with the team being upset about Skye’s life being on the line, they all really care about her.
Until one month from now when we get to find out what happens to Skye because Agents of SHIELD are assholes.
