Agent Carter Premiere: Now is Not the End and Bridge and Tunnel Recap

It is finally here and I don’t think I can tell you how excited I am for Agent Carter.  I have been looking forward to it for months.  It is going to be great having a show lead by a strong female lead.  Agent Carter has been amazing in everything that she has been in.  From Captain America to the short that was made about her and her cameo spots on Agents of SHIELD.

What I am really hoping to get from this show is seeing how she comes to start SHIELD with Stark and the General.  I am also hoping that we will see who it is that she marries because I am curious who was able to replace Cap in her life.

Agent Carter Promo

For anyone who watched Agents of SHIELD last night, not only did you get a sneak peek at Age of Ultron but you also got to see a promo for Agent Carter

Here is a synopsis for the show:

Years before Agent Coulson and his S.H.I.E.L.D. team swore to protect those who cannot protect themselves from threats they cannot conceive, there was Agent Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell, Marvel’s “Captain America: The First Avenger,” Marvel’s “Captain America: The Winter Soldier”), who pledged the same oath but lived in a different time when women weren’t recognized as being as smart or as tough as their male counterparts.

But no one should ever underestimate Peggy.

It’s 1946 and peace has dealt Peggy a serious blow as she finds herself marginalized when the men return home from fighting abroad. Working for the covert SSR (Strategic Scientific Reserve), Peggy finds herself stuck doing administrative work when she would rather be back out in the field; putting her vast skills into play and taking down the bad guys. But she is also trying to navigate life as a single woman in America, in the wake of losing the love of her life, Steve Rogers – aka Captain America.

When old acquaintance Howard Stark (Dominic Cooper, Marvel’s “Captain America: The First Avenger”) finds himself being framed for unleashing his deadliest weapons to anyone willing to pony up the cash, he contacts Peggy – the only person he can trust – to track down those responsible, dispose of the weapons and clear his name. He empowers his butler, Edwin Jarvis (James D’Arcy, “Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World”), to be at her beck and call when needed to help assist her as she investigates and tracks down those responsible for releasing these weapons of mass destruction. But Jarvis, who is a creature of habit and sticks to a rigid daily routine, is going to have to make some major life changes if he’s going to be able to keep up with Peggy.

If caught going on these secret missions for Stark, Peggy could be targeted as a traitor and spend the rest of her days in prison – or worse. And as she delves deeper into her investigation, she may find that those she works for are not who they seem, and she might even begin to question whether Stark is as innocent as he claims.

Agent Carter will be an 8 part miniseries that will air in January.

Agents of SHIELD gets renewed and Flash, Gotham, and Agent Carter ordered to series

After months of wondering we finally have an answer right before finale episode, Agents of SHIELD has been renewed for a second season.  I know fans are breathing a sigh of relief about this.  Anyone who has been watching the show knows that it started off slow but has really turned around during the later episodes.  Let’s hope the show keeps up the momentum and gets better during the second season.

Speaking of Marvel, Agent Carter has been ordered to series, so we will be seeing that during the upcoming fall season.  ABC has released some information about the show:

“Marvel’s Agent Carter,” starring Captain America’s Hayley Atwell follows the story of Peggy Carter. It’s 1946, and peace has dealt Peggy Carter a serious blow as she finds herself marginalized when the men return home from fighting abroad. Working for the covert SSR (Strategic Scientific Reserve), Peggy must balance doing administrative work and going on secret missions for Howard Stark all while trying to navigate life as a single woman in America, in the wake of losing the love of her life–Steve Rogers. Inspired by the feature films “Captain America: The First Avenger” and “Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” along with the short “Marvel One-Shot: Agent Carter.”

If the show is anything like the Marvel One -Shot it should be really awesome.  It will be great to have another show on the air with a strong female lead.  It will be nice seeing how she eventually become one of the founder of SHIELD.

In other TV Show news; Gotham, The Flash, Constantine, and iZombie have all been ordered to series.

What shows are you looking forward to seeing this upcoming fall season?

Agent Carter TV Show is a possible go

It seems that the Agent Carter TV show is a possible go:

“Last year, the company went into Fort Knox mode on its Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. pilot, which was kept under lock and key. They took that a notch further this year with Agent Carter. Because there is a prototype — the project is inspired by a one shot, which was featured on the Blu-ray release of Iron Man 3 — word has been that it would forgo a pilot and go straight to series. The script was finished more than three months ago (“the script is great,” ABC’s Paul Lee said back in January), the option on one-shot’s star Hayley Atwell came up and was extended, but the green light never came. Now there is talk that a pickup for Agent Carter may come along with a renewal for Marvel’s freshman Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., with the new series possibly serving as a bridge between the fall and spring portions of S.H.I.E.L.D.”

Agent Carter would be a limited series of only 13 episodes, which is perfect for a winter hiatus. The ideal would be for Agent Carter to bridge the hiatus gap between the fall and spring seasons of Agents of SHIELD. In order for that Agent Carter to do that, Agents of SHIELD would have to be picked up for a second season, which has not happened yet. Yet be fair Agents of SHIELD is a Whedon show, it can have low ratings but it will have a fan base, one that will petition to bring the show back. ABC should just renew the show. Lets hope that Agents of SHIELD gets renewed so that we can find out more about the upcoming Agents Carter show.

What do you think, should Agents of SHIELD get renewed? Would you watch an Agent Carter TV Show?
