I tried to write a recap about last weeks episode but I just couldn’t do it, that change was too much. What happens to Sansa actually happens to another character one you are not very attached to. It was harder hearing it happen to Sansa, I am really happy that they did not show that on camera. This episode is much easier to do because well some really good things happen.
The news broke at Houston’s Comicpalooza, where Agent Carter herself, Hayley Atwell sat down with fans at a Q&A styled panel. In addition to mentioning an upcoming set visit to the “Captain America: Civil War” set (but not clarifying whether this was going to be a cameo or just a friendly visit), Atwell also mentioned that “Agent Carter” has been picked up for a second season by ABC, and with 10 new episodes (the first season was only 8, amazing episodes though they were). The new season takes place is 1940s Los Angeles instead of New York, and the premiere date hasn’t been set yet, but you can watch footage from the panel below:
Ok, I am going to try something new, mainly because I have a lot going on and it is not always easy to get to these recaps. Let’s go over what has been happening on the show, Oliver has joined the League of Assassins basically to save Thea’s life. Ok, Oliver is like the best big brother ever, if Thea ever said otherwise I would jump through the tv and smack her.
Lots has been happening on SHIELD, with Coulson on the run with Hunter and Fitz. Simmons on the inside with May who seems to have gone over to the other side. Bobbi questioning if Coulson really is a bad person. Coulson recruiting Ward to help them get into Hydra. Skye finding out more about her past from her parents and the kidnapping of her Inhuman friend Lincoln.
Last week, well the team found the dead body of Harrison Wells and Cisco, Caitlin and Barry found the hidden room.
Well Gotham is almost coming to an end for this season, did anyone else get excited when The Ogre set his sights on Barbara, I am sure we are all hoping that she dies. Someone else needs to marry Jim and give birth to Batgirl. How cute were Bruce and Selina at the event, they were so adorable, especially when they were dancing, it was a perfect start to their future relationship. Nygma goes crazy and kills the cop that was hurting Ms. Kringle.
Here we are back for another thrilling episode, Jon is now the Lord Commander of the Nights Watch. Arya has been taken into the House of Black and White, Tyrion is on his way to Khalessi, Jaime is on his way to get his daughter, and the Dorne wants to kill all Lannisters.
After waiting, C2E2 had finally arrived, I had been looking forward to seeing this since last year. I got myself another 3 day pass, because well I was not going to miss out on anything.
I spent most of the day checking out the show room floor since Friday had the least amount of people in attendance. It was nice to check out many of the vendors and see what there was, which was a lot. I really need to hit the lottery because I want everything.
I stood in line with a friend who needed to get Jewel Staite’s (Kaylee from Firefly) autograph. While doing that I noticed that if a person’s line is empty than you can go up to them and say hi. I spent the entire time standing there checking out David Ramsey’s (Diggle from Arrow) line because I wanted to go over and say hi. Jewel Staite was very nice to my friend, but I think she might have had too much makeup on.
I was ignoring most of my panel notices that were coming up on my phone, because I did not have a high need to see all of them. I did make it to the Unmasking the Hero panel with David Ramsey, Jewel Staite, Eoin Macken (Merlin) and Raphael Sbarge (Jiminy Cricket – Once Upon a Time). I will admit the only one I did not know from this panel was the guy from Merlin, but that is only because I have not watched it on Netflix yet.
Well David Ramsey was hilarious, seriously I want to have drinks with this man, I might have tweeted that to him. He got most of the questions, which I was fine with because he was the most entertaining. Things I learned for Arrow, as of right now Diggle will not be Green Lantern, but it can’t be fully ruled out in the future. Yes, the team will of course go after Oliver, because come on they are not going to leave him there. Deathshot might not be dead because if you don’t see a body or in the case of Sara Lance you did see a body they could still be alive. The events of this season, especially what Ra’s Al Ghul has done has a direct impact on next season. He really was doing his best not to give anything away. Also if you were not up to date on Arrow, boy were their spoilers.
Jewel Staite was a bit upset that she was not getting many questions, but she did get the second most. She does live in Vancouver, she would love the chance to have a role on Arrow. We all need to hashtag #JewelStaiteforArrow or #JewelStaiteonArrow. I would be cool with her on Arrow, Summer Glau was already on the show, so she has a connection.
This was an interesting panel, because it was almost talking about how important the sidekicks are to the story. They do help out the heroes a lot, you know hero support but as we learned in Sky High they are heroes too, David Ramsey would agree. Also there was a proposal during the panel, so that was cool.
Most of Friday, I really spent walking around the show floor and hanging out with friends for a bit.
I really should not have stayed out so late with my friends, but I did. This caused me to get a late start, which was bad, the first thing I did when I got there was get in line for the Kick Ass Women of SHIELD because yea, I was seeing Agent Carter and Agent May. Nothing was going to stop this from happening, how about the entire con trying to go to that panel, that stopped me. I really should have left with my temp roommate for the weekend and seen Jason Momoa before hand because than I could have stayed in the room. I consoled myself with the fact that I can catch it on the live stream channel later. As of current time, that panel is not on the twitch tv channel. I guess I should have tried to watch the live stream on my phone while I was hiding by friends because I was unhappy I was not seeing that panel and because the floor was super crowded. I think half of Chicago was at C2E2 on Saturday, this might explain why I couldn’t get into the panel. Also I seem to have issues getting into panels on Saturdays, I didn’t do so well last year either, I must change this for next year.
I wondered the floor again with one of my friend and his friends, this had its amusements because he was dressed up as the Shufflebot from LMFAO and he played music. It was really interesting to see how people reacted to him, a lot of dance parties happened.
The last day of the con, I was on refusal to miss anymore panels that I wanted to see after Saturday’s fiasco. Well since it was not as crowded I was able to get a good spot in line for Game of Throne: A Panel of Fire and Ice.
This panel had Jason Momoa (Khal Drogo) which is why I did not care if I missed him on Saturday because I was getting a second chance, it also had Finn Jones (Sir Loras Tyrell). We really did not get any spoilers, Finn is the only one of them who is on the show, he was refusing to give anything away.
Jason Momoa was hilarious, that was without his crazy hat that he was wearing because apparently that was his thing for the con, he wore a different crazy hat. Apparently Khal Drogo is not happy that Dany is cheating on him, he really would like for her to stop that. All of his loyalties are with her, he wants her to win and sit on the throne. Also he gave us a great reason for why Khal Drogo had to die, because if he didn’t than the series would have been over in 2 books, because Khal Drogo would have killed everyone.
I got to stay in the room, which was great because I got to move up a few rows so I could see Stan Lee. I was upset that I did not make in time for his panel last year so I had to make up for this year. As always he was amazing to see, it is Stan Lee, you can just tell how much he loves to be up there. At the end of the day he really appreciates his career and the fans that he has. Comic books were not the huge things that they are today back when he started. He honestly had no idea things would turn out like this.
Now he does wish that he had some bigger roles in the movies and shows, that is something he is hoping for the future. He has a TV show called Stan Lee’s Lucky Man coming to the UK and then it will be coming out here next year. He did say that he needs to make a cameo on the second season of Agent Carter. The last time I had checked it had not been renewed, so either he is hopeful or he just gave us some great news. He says there will be a Big Hero Six 2, come on its Marvel and Disney how could that not happen. I am happy that I was able to see Stan Lee, it was a great end to the con.
After his panel, I wondered around the floor for the tail end of the show and picked a few last min things.
I enjoyed my time, I do realize that I need to get to panels really early on Saturday, no getting there late. I do wish I had sat in a few more of the other panels, that is something that I did last year that I did not do this year. I will make sure to do that again next year, because some of the comic book and other panels can be quite interesting. I will admit, I was super social this year, I had social activities to do afterwards so that did cut into some of my time. I think next year I will plan for that a bit better so I can see a few more panels. Otherwise I was a good experience, Saturday is a good day to sit around or hide from the show floor because there is so many people there. I know that is great for the con and I am happy that they are drawing in so many people, but its crowded, so maybe a bigger space next year?
Until next con, which will be Wizard World Chicago in Aug.
A few of us Fangirls got to spend some time at the Comic Con and Entertainment Expo at Chicago’s McCormick Place convention centre this past weekend, attending panels, meeting nerd icons (Stan Lee!), and buying entirely too much memorabilia for which I have no space to display…
But the main thing that I enjoy at cons is cosplay. This was my first convention in a while and, while I have a bitchin’ Wonder Woman costume from Halloween, I didn’t dress up, myself. Rather, I love people-watching, photographing some of the most elaborate, the gender-swapped, the creatively altered, and just plain cutest little superheroes and villains roaming the sprawling expanse of Nerd Mecca.
Well Gotham is back from it’s mini break with only 4 episodes left in the season to go. The biggest thing to probably remember from last season that the Wayne Board is out to get Bruce. Gordon decided to basically blackmail Loeb, which got him Bullock’s file but no one else from the GCPD. Now Gordon is head of the GCPD union, thanks to blackmail.
Gordon pays a visit to Bruce who brings him a sandwich that he actually made, I really didn’t know that he was capable of actually making simple food of any kind. Gordon is smart enough to realize that they know who stabbed Alfred. He also realized that Alfred plan finding the guy and handling the situation himself.
While at work, a young cop comes up to Gordon asking him to look into a case that had never really been solved and he knows Gordon is the cop to go to. This proves that Gordon can be sweet talked so he naturally looks into the case. It seems that she went missing for about four months before she had been found. Based on the autopsy that Lee redid on the body it seems that she did not struggle or was she abused. It almost seems like she had been a willing guest, but Gordon is sure that she had been kidnapped.
With the help of Nygma and some information from Lee, they are able to find four other bars, speakeasy ones that were not found during the first search. One of those bars happens to be the right no one because the bartender remembers seeing the victim with a really good-looking guy, well those are her words. They ask her to let them know if she sees the guy again.
During all to this we get a flashback of the Milo’s character meeting Fairchild at the bar, he gives her a really great line that would get most women into bed. It worked she stayed over but when she tries to leave well that doesn’t go over so well. It seems that he keeps her there in handcuffs where she cooks and cleans for him, I am guess some other things as well. Well she had cooked him lamb for dinner and asks him about his day. Unfortunately, she over cooked the lamb, which caused him to break up with her. Well if cooking well is prerequisite I would have been killed early on. His version of breaking up is none other than killing the girls, there has been a few of them.
After Nygma finds a copy of an image that was left at the scene, Bullock realized what was going on. They are dealing with the work of the Ogre, who will kill any cop and their family if they go after him. This is the main reason that he has never been brought in.
They are able to figure out after interrogating the cop who gave him the info was forced by Loeb, Loeb is trying to bring Gordon down. Gordon than proceeds to go after Loeb right in the middle of the GCPD, where Gordon tells Loeb that he is going to find the Ogre and then he is going after Loeb.
The Penguin is trying to get a hold of a restaurant, but the lady does not want to sell. She does agree if he can get her sweet granddaughter back from the horrible guitar player she is with. Well The Penguin has the guitar player fingers cut off, that convinces him to leave. With her granddaughter back the lady agrees to go over terms with The Penguin. It seems that the only reason that The Penguin wanted the restaurant was because he plans on killing Moroni there.
Fish, we are all curious what is going on over there, well she steps outside only to meet with the Catchers who basically tell her that they will kill her the next time that they see her outside. She then comes up with a plan to get everyone out, she has to get the keys first. While getting the keys the Doctor comes in so Fish has to convince him that she was trying to kill herself, not trying to escape. Well Fish sends a bunch of the big guys out first so the Catchers catch them, while she goes back for everyone else. The Doctor shows up but they beat him a few times before they escape to the helicopter. The Catcher realize they are trying to escape on the helicopter, the head one shoot Fish right in the side as she is flying the helicopter.
Bruce, well Alfred is back and looking to handle Reggie but Bruce does not want Alfred to go alone since he is not well enough. This part is true is Alfred pops his stitches and begins to bleed again. Well Bruce goes looking around gun ranges because that is where he thinks he will find Reggie based on what Alfred said. Lucky for him he makes sure to send out a few messages looking for Selina who tells him that she could have hit him with a brick, the S&M flirting style they are known for begins, just the awkward pubescent version.
Well Selina realizes where to find Reggie, as she laughs a Bruce for not knowing that meant shooting up drugs. They are able to find him and Selina takes his drugs and hangs them out the window until Reggie tells them what they need to know. Which is that some high ups at Wayne Enterprise were worried about what he knows. Reggie also wants to know if Alfred is all right because he didn’t want to hurt him. Reggie tells Bruce to let Alfred handle it since these people are much to big for Bruce to handle. Selina is supposed to give back the drugs but she drops them, which causes Reggie to get pissed and threaten the kids. Reggie sees his drugs sitting on the ledge and reaches over to grab them, Bruce wants to push Reggie out the window but can’t. Selina on the other hand will not let Reggie send people after them and she pushes Reggie out of the window.
One, it looks like Selina is starting to rank up a body count, but if we learned anything Bruce does not punish for justified killing. He is not able to kill others, but if their death serves justice he does not disown those who do it. Considering I have seen images of Bruce and Selina together at party, I really doubt he hates her. Was I the only one hoping that Barbara becomes one of The Ogre’s victims? Granted it would be a great way to get Barbara and Gordon back together but I am kind of hoping that they will just ignore comics and she doesn’t make it. Someone is supposed to die this season, granted it’s probably Fish since she is not coming back for next season but we could all hope that it’s Barbara. Based on the scenes we have seen for the last 3 episodes well The Ogre does set his sights on her.
Until next time, when we get to find out what will happen between The Ogre and Gordon.
