With Age of Apocalypse up next for the X-Men movies and talks of recasting some of the roles with younger versions. The ladies of TFP wanted to give our votes for who should be casted in this roles.
She is from Africa, specifically Kenya which is where Storm is from, she already has the accent. I can see her with white hair and blue contacts. I think she could pull off the punk look or her first appearance look. Lupita has that regal nature to her as evident by her Oscar speech. She proved to have incredible acting talent in 12 Years a Slave, she has already acted with Magneto. Let us just hope she does not suffer from the Oscar does not make you a good superhero curse many of the females suffer from like Hallie Berry.
Bryce Dallas Howard
She would be a great Jean Grey, one she is a natural red head. She also has some great acting roles, she was the wife in Terminator Salvation so she proved that she can handle a bit of action. Howard was the bitchy girl in The Help, which proves she play the stuck up element of Jean Grey. Just look at that picture you could just see her as the cheerleader girl next door which is so Jean. Next to (insert name) as Scott they would just look perfect, like the perfect couple, just as Jean and Scott should.
We could not agree on anyone to be Scott because out of the younger actors no one really stands out. James Marsden was such a perfect Scott it is hard to find anyone to top him, with some make-up to make him look younger they could just bring him back. If you have any suggestions for Scott Summers please let us know.
According to photographer Adam Jay, this is the first image of Gal Gadot in her full Wonder Woman costume and make-up. This reportedly comes direct from SDCC.
It’s a little dark and not so great a resolution, so we’re going to withhold judgement for now. The costume looks good from what we can see, but we’re still not sold on Gadot in the part.
Some new pics from the set of Mockingjay: Part 2 are circulating the internet, if you have not read the book then I suggest not reading any further because there will be SPOILERS!!!!!!
The biggest, baddest, world-destroying-est villain has been cast for the Marvel Universe movies…
And it’s the guy who played George W. Bush.
As we all know Star Wars: Episode VII is currently filming in London, even though they are in production they are still adding cast members. Academy Award Winner Lupita Nyong’o has joined the cast. Rumors have been speculating for months that she was in talks to join the cast, well I guess they are true.
They have also casted Gwendoline Christie who plays Brienne of Tarth on Game of Thrones. Christie is also set to appear in Mockingjay Part 2, which is due out next year.
“I could not be more excited about Lupita and Gwendoline joining the cast of Episode VII,” says Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy. “It’s thrilling to see this extraordinarily talented ensemble taking shape.”
Since we know that the extended universe it not going to play a part in these films and if it does it will be very limited has Lucasfilms not released anything about the characters these talented ladies will be playing. Since I happen to watch Game of Thrones, I would put money on Christie playing a Jedi.
We will of course keep you posted on anymore Star Wars news. The new movie is expected out December 18th, 2015.
In an age where anybody with a smartphone can become Paparazzo, it’s getting tougher and tougher for studios to keep things under wraps. Case in point, Instagram user armandarakjian uploaded this photo for all of the Interwebs to gawk at:
With the new Star Wars movie being made I know everyone including myself has been speculating about what stories from the expanded universe they are going to use. Well Lucasfilm has made a statement about the expanded universe:
“Lucas always made it clear that he was not beholden to the EU. He set the films he created as the canon. This includes the six Star Wars episodes, and the many hours of content he developed and produced in Star Wars: The Clone Wars. These stories are the immovable objects of Star Wars history, the characters and events to which all other tales must align.”
I agree with this and have always agreed with this, that what Lucas wrote is canon. Many of the EU authors agree as well since what he wrote has been incorporated into many of the novels, I am finding many instances of what Lucas created in The Legacy of the Force series that I am currently reading.
“In order to give maximum creative freedom to the filmmakers and also preserve an element of surprise and discovery for the audience, Star Wars Episodes VII-IX will not tell the same story told in the post-Return of the Jedi Expanded Universe. While the universe that readers knew is changing, it is not being discarded. Creators of new Star Wars entertainment have full access to the rich content of the Expanded Universe. For example, elements of the EU are included in Star Wars Rebels. The Inquisitor, the Imperial Security Bureau, and Sienar Fleet Systems are story elements in the new animated series, and all these ideas find their origins in roleplaying game material published in the 1980s.”
This could mean that some elements from the EU might be included into the film. What elements, I am not sure but there is a chance that some of our beloved character might not be included. That makes me sad because Jaina Solo is my favorite Star Wars character. I know many people were hoping to see Mara Jade who I will admit is an amazing character, the likely hood is that we will not be seeing her.
Since the new film will be dealing with life after Episode VI, Disney and Lucasfilms have reached a decision about how to handle things going forth.
“Now, with an exciting future filled with new cinematic installments of Star Wars, all aspects of Star Wars storytelling moving forward will be connected. Under Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy’s direction, the company for the first time ever has formed a story group to oversee and coordinate all Star Wars creative development.”
“We have an unprecedented slate of new Star Wars entertainment on the horizon,” said Kennedy. “We’re set to bring Star Wars back to the big screen, and continue the adventure through games, books, comics, and new formats that are just emerging. This future of interconnected storytelling will allow fans to explore this galaxy in deeper ways than ever before.”
Everything going forth will be uniformed, that does not mean they are getting rid of our beloved stories and characters, all of those novels will still be available, under a new legacy banner. If they choose not to use any of these characters in the new movie then we will not be seeing any new tales involving them. I don’t know about the rest of you but I am kind of hoping that they will decide to use the Skywalker/Solo family. I would love to see more from them, well I would love to see more from Jaina.
New canon stuff is coming and we will be able to check them out:
“On the screen, the first new canon to appear will be Star Wars Rebels. In print, the first new books to come from this creative collaboration include novels from Del Rey Books. First to be announced, John Jackson Miller is writing a novel that precedes the events of Star Wars Rebels and offers insight into a key character’s backstory, with input directly from executive producers Dave Filoni, Simon Kinberg, and Greg Weisman.”
What do you think about the EU probably not being used in the new Star Wars films, books, video games, etc.?
The current Star Wars rumor that is going around is that we will be seeing Tatoonie in Episode VII. Tatoonie is the desert planet that is home to both Anakin and Luke Skywalker. This will not shock some fans while it might leave others confused. Even though the movie is will be based on the Skywalker/Solo family, Luke Skywalker pretty much never goes back to Tatoonie. As of the Yuuzhan Vong war and the Legacy of the Force series Luke had never been back to Tatoonie. Those two-story lines seem the most plausible for them to be using. It has also be said that Lucas wrote the last three movies already but there has been talks of them taking from what has been written in the extended universe. I guess we will have to see.
As of now it seems that Tatoonie will be filmed in a “Morocco-like environment,” Tatoonie had originally been filmed in Tunisia. The Tunisian government it trying to gain the funds to restore the original sets so there is a chance that the movie could go back to where is originally started.
Another Star Wars casting rumor is going around, Maisie Richardson -Sellers is apparently in talks to play a major Jedi role as possibly a descendent of Ben Kenobi.
Maisie is a rather unknown she has only done a few stage plays. George Lucas used with pretty much unknown actors and it worked out well for him. It would not be shocking for J.J. Abrams to go much of the same route.
I guess we will see what happens with this movie, but we promise to keep you up to date about it.
