Ezra Miller to Play “The Flash” in “Batman v. Superman,” and I Don’t Care
(As you may be able to tell, I have lost all ability to mask my disdain at all things DC movie universe. But on with the article… )
Ezra Miller (“The Perks of Being a Wallflower”) has been cast as the Flash for an appearance in “Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice,” but it is still unknown as to what capacity we will be seeing any of the second tier JLA-ers in. Miller’s casting also has led some non-disillusioned fans to speculate as to which of the men to bear the mantle of the Flash he will be playing.
That also calls into question if Green Lantern will be in this movie, and which GL it would be.
By the way, according to Buzzfeed, the shitstorm of DC Comics films will include:
- Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, directed by Zack Snyder (vomiting into theatres on March 25, 2016)
- Suicide Squad, directed by David Ayer, (2016)
- Wonder Woman (2017)
- Justice League Part One, directed by Zack Snyder (2017)
- The Flash (2018)
- Aquaman (2018)
- Shazam (2019)
- Justice League Part Two, directed by Zack Snyder (2019)
- Cyborg (2020)
- Green Lantern (2020)
…I give no fucks about any of these. I do like how they’ve broken the Justice League movie up into two parts like it’s fucking Twilight… Y’know, the epitome of overblown film-making specifically geared towards making the most possible money.
Well, in good-ish news, Miller’s casting will make him the first openly “queer” (as he self-identified in a 2012 magazine interview) actor to play a superhero on the big screen. So, hey, that’s awesome… But we almost feel like he should gracefully bow out of this trainwreck.
He can do better, we’re sure.
